Zack Olin has been named senior vice president of Development and Current Series for Disney Television Animation, the studio behind animated hits like “Big City Greens” and “Phineas and Ferb,” it was announced today by Meredith Roberts, executive vice president, Disney Television Animation, to whom he will report. 

In this role, Olin will oversee development and current series across Disney Television Animation’s award-winning slate, helping guide creative strategy and series execution as the studio continues to expand its portfolio of animated storytelling for kids and families on Disney+.

“Zack brings an exceptional creative sensibility and a deep understanding of how great stories are told and sustained over time,” said Meredith Roberts. “He has a strong track record of shaping bold storytelling, supporting creators and driving creative excellence, and he will be a key partner as we continue to deliver beloved animated series and movies for audiences around the world, now and for generations to come.”

Olin joins Disney after spending the past year independently developing and producing series and films. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Nickelodeon and Awesomeness, where he oversaw both series and film development and production. His credits include Monster High: The MovieXO, Kitty and School Spirits, among numerous projects spanning live action and animation.

Before Nickelodeon, Olin spent 13 years across ABC and ABC Studios, where he oversaw an extensive slate that included grown-ishSpeechless and Happy Endings. He began his career at Fox, working in development and current across animation, comedy, and drama, on films like TITAN A.E. and iconic series including The Simpsons and American Dad.

Olin received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University.
