And it looks pretty damn beautiful. A mysterious map sets Smurfette (voice of Demi Lovato) and her best friends on an exciting and thrilling race through a Forbidden Forest, filled with magical creatures, to find a mysterious lost village – before the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) does.
Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2) directs, Sony releases it on April 7th, 2017. Here’s our first look:
Written by Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon, based on the characters and the actual cartooning style of creator Peyo, the cast also includes Joe Manganiello (Hefty Smurf), Jack McBrayer (Clumsy Smurf), Danny Pudi (Brainy Smurf) and Mandy Patinkin (as Papa Smurf).

Not sure if this film will completely work so far. Although, if Hanna-Barbara didn’t completely morph into Cartoon Network Studios, I can see them use Jack McBrayer as a regular on one of their series.
