The acclaimed producer and distributor of animation for adult and family audiences, GKIDS, has announced it has added exclusive IMAX showings of Evangelion:3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time, to theaters nationwide, happening on November 30th only. The IMAX shows will be proceeded by screenings of EVANGELION:3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME – the final installment of the highly anticipated theatrical “Rebuild” editions of the EVANGELION franchise, on December 6th, 8th and 11th. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning on November 2nd at GKIDS.com/EVANGELION, as well as participating theater box offices.
Evangelion:3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time first debuted in Japan on March 8th, 2022, and quickly became one of the top films at the Japanese Box Office this year.
Created by Hideaki Anno, the NEON GENESIS EVANGELION franchise is known as one of the most influential animated series ever. The story of teenager Shinji Ikari has remained one of the most famous titles in animation history, ever since it first premiered in 1995 as a television series. To this day, it is still a popular cultural phenomenon.
After the conclusion of the beloved 1995 television series, the iconic story was reborn as the EVANGELION movie series. The film series started with EVANGELION:1.11 YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE, and was then followed by EVANGELION:2.22 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE, EVANGELION:3.33 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO, and came together in the finale, Evangelion:3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time.
In 2021, GKIDS released the 26 original episodes of T.V. series, NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, as well as the movies EVANGELION:DEATH (TRUE)2 and THE END OF EVANGELION on Blu-ray for the first time in North America.These titles were also available to download-to-own. GKIDS also oversees the North American distribution for Hideaki Anno’s previous series, NADIA: The Secret of Blue Water.
