Announced this past weekend live in Tokyo, Japan, the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards have come to an end—and the winners have been revealed. Prominent voice actress Sally Amaki and well-known entertainer Jon Kabira hosted the awards ceremony for the third year in a row, along with award presenters around the world such as Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things and Grammy award winning musician Kacey Musgraves.

Additional award presenters include the iconic anime collaborator J Balvin, Italian musician Damiano David, actress and musician Rina Sawayama, Brazilian popstar Pabllo Vittar, American snowboarding athlete Chloe Kim, American screenwriter Zak Penn, comedic duo Shohei Osada and Shun Matsuo from Chocolate Planet, Japanese actor and musical talent Dean Fujioka, live-action adaptation connoisseur Kanata Hongo, Academy Award winning Japanese actress Mayu Matsuoka, and the multi-talented Japanese model Saya Ichikawa.

The pre-show co-hosted by Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu streamed live from within the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa, featuring celebrities from all over the globe, such as the Demon Queen VTuber Ironmouse, renowned global drag star Plastique Tiara, anime-specialized YouTuber Gigguk, American singer and songwriter d4vd, and American-Chilean musician Paloma Mami.

Throughout the show, fans were treated to exhilarating performances by a variety of artists, including one of the 2025 Anime Award winners Creepy Nuts, the hip-hop musical team that performed the opening theme from Mashle: Magic and Muscles, “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born.” The performances also featured the renowned rock band FLOW with “DAYS” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Eureka Seven, LiSA—2020’s most streamed Japanese artist overseas who performed “crossing field,” “Datte Atashino Hero,” and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s “gurenge.” Fans are also able to witness a special Video on Demand of “Otonoke, Anime of the Year nominee Dan Da Dan’s opening theme by Creepy Nuts.

Attack on Titan won the Anime Awards’ first Global Impact Award, celebrating the most groundbreaking creators and works that have made the most impactful strides in the industry and medium as a whole. Premiering late 2024, Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK marked the beloved anime’s end. The award was accepted by Yuichiro Hayashi from Studio MAPPA, representing the many creative individuals who contributed throughout the series’ everlasting run and made it as successful as it is today.

Other notable award winners include Solo Leveling, which won Anime Of The Year, Best New Series, and Best Ending Sequence, Dan Da Dan which won Best Character Design, Best Anime Song, and Best Opening Sequence, Frieren which won Best Background Art, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc which won Best Continuing Series and Best Animation, all amongst many other well-deserved winners across multiple categories. With no surprise, Anya Forger from Spy x Family, who stole the hearts of many, won the “Must Protect At All Cost” Character Award.

President of Crunchyroll Rahul Purini said: “Fans form deep emotional connections to anime. These are not just series, films or songs, but rather works of art that help define the identity of anime fans. With an incredible 51 million votes this year, the 2025 Anime Awards are celebrating the creators in Japan who have captured the hearts of fans and are powering anime’s prominence in global pop culture.”

This year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards held 51 million votes casted by fans around the globe. Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, were listed as the top participants. The full ceremony will be streamable via Crunchyroll’s YouTube and Twitch Channels, as well as SONY PICTURES CORE, the Sony Group Corp Japan, and Global YouTube Channels. The 2025 Anime Awards were backed by Sony Music Solutions Inc. and Dempsey Productions.
