New “Boop!” Merchandise In Advance of the Upcoming Broadway Musical

Leading brand-licensing agency, Global Icons, and Fleischer Studios, owner of the beloved Queen of Cartoons Betty Boop and other classic animated characters, have entered into new Spring licensing collaborations for Ms. Boop with several prominent brands, including Beauty Creations, which drops on February 6th. In addition, Betty Boop also has launched recent collaborations with Bella Doña and Glamlite, both prominent Latina-founded brands.

Founded by Esmeralda Hernandez, Beauty Creations will launch a Beauty Creations x Betty Boop collection featuring an array of cosmetics and personal accessories. Hernandez, a natural entrepreneur who started her first beauty company at just 15 years old after learning the business and working sales at swap meets with her mother, is passionate about affordable luxury and making her high-quality cosmetics, body care, and other personal care products accessible to everyone.

“I was inspired to work with Betty Boop because she is a timeless icon that represents bold femininity and individuality while captivating generations,” says Hernandez. “Her playful confidence perfectly reflects our mission at Beauty Creations—to inspire people to embrace their unique beauty with fun and fearless self-expression.”

The fun continues the following month when BOOP! The Musical makes its Broadway debut at the Broadhurst Theater in New York City with previews beginning March 11 and opening night on April 5. This fun-for-the-whole-family musical is, as one prominent critic put it, “joyous, spectacular, a creative wonderland!”

Betty Boop also has launched recent collaborations with Bella Doña and Glamlite, both prominent Latina-founded brands. All three of these collaborations are part of the expanding Betty of the People initiative, a program created by Fleischer Studios to make Betty Boop more accessible to a wider range of cultures and communities by partnering with them to genuinely reflect their heritage and values.

And Betty continues to charm her fans with a number of other successful collabs, including a limited-edition apparel collection with streetwear brand CommonHype, and an ongoing collection of phone cases, watch bands, and AirPod cases by Affinity Bands. Rounding out Ms. Boop’s happenings this Spring is her collab with Card.com, which will be introducing new Betty Boop artwork to their existing line of Betty-branded debit cards, including her wildly popular western-themed art.

ABOUT BETTY BOOP AND FLEISCHER STUDIOS

First introduced in 1930, Betty Boop was created by Max Fleischer for his “Talkartoons” series, the world’s first animated “talkies” which Max’s company, Fleischer Studios, produced for Paramount Studios. Betty initially appeared as a dog-like stage performer who sang and danced with another dog-like character named Bimbo, joyfully entertaining vast audiences of other Fleischer characters from the animal kingdom.

Inspired by the collective energy, style and sound of the many popular Jazz Age flappers and entertainers of the 1920s, Betty quickly evolved into a full-fledged human character, and by 1932 she had become the only female animated screen star in the world. Voiced by Mae Questel, Betty starred in more than 100 cartoons, 90 of which are included in the official Betty Boop series, which ended in 1939. Since then, Betty has appeared in dozens of hit movies, television specials, commercials, and was the first cartoon character to be profiled by A&E’s Biography series.
Today, Fleischer Studios with their team of creative professionals and worldwide licensing agency, Global Icons (www.globalicons.com), continue to parlay the iconic Betty Boop into a worldwide licensing and entertainment phenomenon, delighting millions of fans and collectors alike.
