The latest new series from Rick and Morty creator Matt Roller comes Haunted Hotel, to be streamed exclusively on Netflix starting September 19th. Straight-to-series from a highly competitive auction, the adult animated comedy series brings along talent from not only Rick and Morty but several other well-known titles.
Chris McKenna, renowned writer of the entire Tom Holland era Spider-Man film trilogy, Dan Harmon, the creator of Community and co-creator of Rick and Morty, and Steven Levy, both producer for Rick and Morty and assistant to Dan Harmon, will all be co-executive producers for Haunted Hotel. Additionally, Erica Hayes, storyboard artist for Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman, and several other titles, will be stepping up as a director for this exciting new series.
The plot within the Haunted Hotel follows a single mother struggling to manage her two children, the Undervale, and the ghosts haunting the Undervale, all at once. Her estranged brother may have been chipping in, but after his unfortunate passing, now he’s a ghost too, and thinks she should try to hear the spirits out.
Matt Roller has built an extensive writing career, from co-executive producing Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Mr. Mayor, to Dan Harmon’s Krapopolis, he brings a wide variety of valuable experience to this promising series. He’s also written for Speechless, Son of Zorn, Community, Archer, and of course, Rick and Morty.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” Roller commented.
