In the anime and manga industry, Lupin III is widely regarded as having one of the most prominent legacies in its history. For over five decades, Lupin has cultivated a fanbase of millions around the globe, captivating audiences with his mischievous charm. The iconic character fans have come to know and love was originally created by Monkey Punch in 1967. Since then, a variety of television series and films have been produced.
The first feature film, LUPIN III: The Mystery of Mamo was released in 1978. Only a year later, the classic 1979 LUPIN III: The Castle of Cagliostro, was released by none other than Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki, marking his directorial debut. More recently, LUPIN III: The First was released in 2019, and became the franchise’s first film to be 3DCG animated.
Now with the latest release, LUPIN THE IIIRD: The Movie – The Immortal Bloodline, the franchise revisits traditional animation for the first time since 1996, nearly 30 years later. Director Takeshi Koike also makes his return to the franchise since he last worked with the original manga from Monkey Punch six years ago. LUPIN THE IIIRD: The Movie – The Immortal Bloodline is a carefully crafted combination of Koike and Monkey Punch’s signature styles.

The Blu-ray is confirmed to include a director and cast post-screening talk, stage greetings, teasers, and trailers as bonus features.
Synopsis
The greatest thief Lupin III and his gang of skilled outlaws find a strange invitation to an unknown island, where not long after having their plane shot down they are hunted by their past enemies. Blanketed in a toxic fog and surrounded by threats both old and new, they will need every trick up their sleeves to escape their would-be doom.
