Kim Howitt Joins WarnerMedia Kids & Family as Senior Creative Executive

Kim Howitt has been named Senior Creative Executive for WarnerMedia Kids & Family, it was announced today by Amy Friedman, Head of Kids & Family Programming, Warner Bros. In the new role, Howitt will oversee the creative development of third-party animation, co-production, and live-action across preschool, kids, and family. Based in New York, Howitt will report into Friedman.

In an effort to usher in new and engaging content for Cartoon Network, Howitt will work closely with the development teams across Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation alongside Adina Pitt, who has taken an expanded role leading kids & family acquisitions, co-productions, and content partnerships across both linear and streaming in the U.S., and on linear in LatAm.

An accomplished veteran in children’s content, Howitt brings more than 25 years of experience to the position. Her extensive background showcases success in the development and ideation of multiplatform content, both long and short form, live-action and animation production. She was a pioneer in digital commerce content, leading creative for Publicis Groupe’s experimental project, Honeyshed.

Previously Howitt served as Head of Development for HMH Productions, building an award-winning production company within the renowned educational publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, which included their fourth season of the latest Emmy-winning Carmen Sandiego. She has also created and inspired award-winning content for prominent industry leaders such as Apple, Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix and MTV.
