Ketchup Entertainment Acquires “THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP: A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE”

Ketchup Entertainment has officially acquired the North American rights to The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie from Warner Bros. Animation. GFM Animation is overseeing the process of worldwide distribution sales of this enthusiastically well-regarded film that premiered this year at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.

The CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, Gareth West, expressed that “THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP is a historical moment for the Looney Tunes franchise, and we are proud to be partnering with Warner Bros. Animation to bring this film to audiences theatrically. We cannot wait for audiences of all ages to experience one of the smartest animated films in recent years.”

Fred Hedman of GFM Animation mentioned that “Gareth’s enthusiasm for Warner Bros. Animation’s spectacular, Looney adventure persuaded us that Ketchup Entertainment were the right partners for releasing the film in North America. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with the team as they prepare for audiences to embrace Porky Pig and Daffy Duck on the big screen.”

Coming from director Pete Browngardt (Looney Tunes Cartoons, Uncle Grandpa), the film features Eric Bauza (two-time EmmyÒ winner) reprising his roles as both Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. The pair discover an evil alien- invasion scheme while they’re working at their local bubble gum factory. Teaming with Petunia Pig, the characters set out on a ridiculous, all-or-nothing mission of battling zombies, aliens, and bringing hilarious gags and dynamic visuals in the way only Looney Tunes can. The well-received film also stars voice actors Candi Milo, Fred Tatasciore, and EmmyÒ winner Peter MacNicol.

Directed by Pete Browngardt, the voice cast includes Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, and Fred Tatasciore. Alex Kirwan serves as the supervising producer, and the movie is written by Darrick Bachman, Pete Browngardt, Kevin Costello, Andrew Dickman, David Gemmill, Alex Kirwan, Ryan Kramer, Jason Reicher, Michael Ruocco, Johnny Ryan, and Eddie Trigueros. Nick Cross serves as the film’s Art Director, and Aaron Spurgeon serves as the Production Designer. Executive Producers include Sam Register and Pete Browngardt, and the project is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
