This past weekend, August 31st, 2025, the Jujutsu Kaisen 5th Anniversary Special live-stream revealed the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season. Season 3 will premiere in January 2026.

Additionally, the fan-favorite anime series will host its third season exclusively on Crunchyroll. The new season will be available on the streaming service worldwide, excluding Asia. Airing the same day as Japan, episodes will drop weekly.

Depicted in the trailer, Yuji Itadori is wrestling with his despair over the “Shibuya Incident,” convinced he has killed several people. An intense battle commences between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s main character. Notably, a heated interaction occurred between newest arrival Naoya Zen’in and Choso. Although brief, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in also made appearances.

The Japanese voice cast features Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Daisuke Namikawa as Choso, and Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu.

The highly anticipated season comes from TOHO Animation. Shota Goshozono served as the director, with series composition and script writing by Hiroshi Seko. Together, Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa handled the character design. Studio MAPPA returned to animate the series once again. Music was provided by Yoshimasa Terui, with music production by Yoshiki Kobayashi.

Adapted from the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Although the manga concluded in September 2024, over a million copies are circulating to this day. VIZ Media has published the manga in the US.

Synopsis

Despite having only just met Megumi, Yuji Itadora risks it all to save him and lets himself be possessed by the King of Curses. However, Yuji miraculously is able to regain control, despite having almost no experience with cursed spirits. His great potential and precarious situation earns him the guidance of the most powerful sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, and admittance into Tokyo Jujutsu High School. With the help of his classmates Megumi and Nobara, Yuji fights to banish the King of Curses once and for all.
