From the legendary director Mamoru Hosoda comes The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, now available on Blu-ray in 4K UHD with a limited edition Steelbook. GKIDS’ new release, distributed by Shout! Studios, will be available exclusively on Amazon starting September 9th. At the same time, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time will be made available on every major VOD platform. 

As part of the 4K UHD release series celebrating the director’s earlier works, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is one of many early films by Mamoru Hosoda, also known for BELLE, Wolf Children, Summer Wars, among many others. In The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Hosoda combines his signature visual style with a heartwarming story about a girl struggling to balance her first crush and time travel.

Synopsis

Everyone wishes at some point that they could go back in time, but after Makoto accidentally does just that to avoid an oncoming train, the ability to reset any and every mistake completely takes over her life. Awkward confessions, failed exams, there are seemingly no more consequences she can’t avoid. Except for the consequences of treating time like a plaything. A terrible future lies ahead, one Makoto must avoid, for it cannot be reversed.
