Not long after the North American release, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie will debut in Japan on May 30th. The previous trailer released in April showcased the brand new acoustic edition of “Where Our Blue Is” from Tatsuya Kitani, originally used as the opening theme song for this arc. In it’s original run, the opening song achieved over 100 million views with Youtube and over 200 million with Spotify.
Produced by TOHO animation and brought to life by the renowned MAPPA studio, the JuJutsu Kaisen anime series was based on the original manga from Gege Akutami. The manga that started it all was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, eventually leading to the anime’s premiere in October 2020. Since then, the series has accumulated immense popularity worldwide, becoming a pop culture phenomenon. In December 2023, the series concluded its second season and received the “Anime of the Year” award from the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, amongst other achievements. Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie marks the franchise’s first theatrical feature since JuJutSu Kaisen 0, which grossed over $188 million worldwide, and is the first new installment since the end of season two. This title is the very first from the franchise to be distributed by GKIDS.
