Disney+ has released the final key art and a new clip for the original movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. This animated film is based on the highly popular book series by Jeff Kinney, and is scheduled to premiere on December 2nd, 2022 on Disney+.
Middle school student Greg Heffley returns, with the same amount of angst, rowdiness, and bad luck as usual. The story of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is centered around the complicated and chaotic relationship between Greg and his older brother, Rodrick. This lackadaisical, spikey-haired high school student is totally unruly, and spends all his time playing with his rock band, Löded Diper. And while Rodrick really enjoys torturing his little brother, he ultimately loves him very much.
Directed by Luke Cormican (Teen Titans Go!) and written and produced by author Jeff Kinney, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules features the voice talents of Brady Noon (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), Ethan William Childress (mixed-ish), Edward Asner (Up), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Erica Cerra (Power Rangers), and Hunter Dillon (Deadpool 2). “Can You Smell Us Now”, a new original song by Jon Levine, is featured in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. Jimmy Tatro performs the song, and the lyrics are by author Jeff Kinney.
