Heritage Auctions plans to offer the very best lots from the renowned Dragon Ball franchise in its Anime Showcase sale, The Art of Dragon Ball. On November 17th, there will be more than 200 rare and essential pieces crossing the auction block. Expect to see highly graded trading cards, original production cels from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT, original printings of major Weekly Shonen Jump issues, and more.
Following the long-running, action-packed journey of Goku as he becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the universe, Akira Toriyama’s monumental Dragon Ball phenomenon set a new precedent for shonen storytelling. Since 1984, Dragon Ball has since become one of the highest-grossing franchises ever, inspiring numerous beloved anime titles. None have ever quite matched its global renown, however. The series is still thriving today, as seen with this August’s box office hit Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
