As the countdown to Dan Da Dan season 2 continues, Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc. debuted a new trailer just this Monday—May 19th, 2025—teasing the upcoming intro for the new season. Written by the sensational J-Pop artist AiNA THE END comes “On The Way,” composed exclusively for the hit occult series just like the prior season’s intro “Otonoke.”

Following in the footsteps of Creepy Nuts, AiNA THE END began her roots in March 2015 as part of BiSH, a punk-rock idol group, and has since collaborated with well-renowned artists like Sugizo, Kenshi Yonezu, TK from Ling tosite sigure, and Mondo Grosso. Her portfolio is sound, with singles like “Red:birthmark” and “Ai Kotoba,” appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2 and The Apothecary Diaries, respectively.

Speaking on the release, AiNA THE END said: “I am so pleased to announce that I have written “On The Way,” the opening theme for the second season of Dan Da Dan. I really love Dan Da Dan, both the original manga and the first season of the anime series, and am so happy to have this opportunity. In “On The Way,” I poured my heart into creating music that captures the bittersweet emotions of love while fighting and running to protect what is most important. The song also represents the feelings of Momo and Okarun, and I hope that it can serve as a source of encouragement for those who are feeling lost. I really love this song!”

The fan-favorite series created by Yukinobu Tatsu and animated by Science SARU is heading to theaters with Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye on May 30th in Asia, June 6th in North America, and June 7th in Europe. Season 2 is set to premiere globally on June 3rd via ADN, Crunchyroll, Hulu, Muse, Netflix, and other streaming services.

Synopsis

Momo Ayase and her classmate “Okarun” became fast friends after a bet between them went wrong, leaving Momo with awakened powers and Okarun possessed. Facing troubled ghosts lashing out from their unresolved pain and disturbed aliens with a strange fixation on their human anatomy, their romcom school crushes for each other share the stage with the absurd and supernatural. Now their relationship takes another turn as Jiji, Momo’s childhood crush, suddenly appears needing their help. While the three travel to Jiji’s hometown to investigate his seemingly haunted house, Jiji’s now rekindled friendship with Momo forces Okarun to face his jealousy.
