The Anime Awards will take place on May 25th, 2025, live from the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo.
This exciting event will be supported by Sony Music Solutions Inc., part of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., and Dempsey Productions, with the ceremony available for global audiences to watch via livestream. In celebration of one of the most exciting Anime Awards yet, Crunchyroll is also offering a selection of 27 titles available free for streaming until May 27th, and has partnered with Spotify to bring current and previous nominees new themed playlists.
In attendance this year is Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, who will kick off the event with opening commentary. The confirmed hosts for the ceremony are none other than voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira.
“The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are one of the most important times of year for fans because we hear directly from them on what anime they love and get to honor the creative community behind that love,” President of Crunchyroll Rahul Purini stated. “Anime continues to deeply resonate emotionally with fans, and anime’s biggest night of the year is sure to invoke a lot of joy and pride amongst the anime community—fans and creators alike. This year’s nominees represent more than 50 series and films developed by more than 35 talented studios.”
Some highly anticipated categories include Anime of the Year, Film of the Year, Best Original Anime, and several others, with nominees ranging from titles to voice actors, directors, characters, and more.
