ChaO, the cute and quirky Japanese animated film that debuted last June during Annecy, is releasing in theatres for North American audiences starting April 10th. The film will be viewable in its original Japanese audio with English subtitles. As of today, March 25th, tickets are on sale.

With this announcement, GKIDS also unveiled a brand new poster for ChaO. Brought to audiences by the esteemed animator Yasuhiro Aoki and the highly praised animation house Studio 4°C, ChaO previously won the Jury Award for a feature film through its run at Annecy.

This work of art was crafted for over 7 years, bringing something new and imaginative to the romantic comedy genre in a hilariously charming way.

Synopsis

Stephan finds himself, a normal, polite officer worker, suddenly proposed to by a princess from the mermaid kingdom. His life no longer makes sense as he finds himself now living with the chaotically sincere Chao, and her genuine love for him begins to reach his heart. Through the emotional barriers he’s set up between himself and others, love finds a way.
