ZENSHU
During the Industry Panel, a brand-new trailer for ZENSHU made its debut at NYYC. The new series will be premiering on Crunchyroll in January 2025. ZENSHU’s animation has been produced by MAPPA, highly praised for its work on JUJUSTSU KAISEN, Chainsaw Man, and Attack on Titan’s final season. Mitsue Yamazaki (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle; How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) has directed the series, with Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon; 2024’s Ranma ½) as its scriptwriter. ZENSHU follows the story of Natsuko Hirose, an animation graduate seeking to start her career. Natsuko quickly moves up in the industry with her strong skills and talent, becoming a director in just a short span of time. With the grand success of her first anime, Natsuko quickly becomes recognized as a prodigy director and begins working on her second project, a rom-com movie all about first love. There’s just one issue, though: Natsuko has never been in love, and without any experience to draw on, she struggles to resonate with the themes of the movie. As a result, the movie’s production comes to a halt.
