Warner Bros. just posted a trailer for a new anime film by director Kenji Kamiyama – (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East) – Napping Princess: The Story of the Unknown Me. I.G Port’s anime subsidiary Signal.MD is animating the film as its first anime film project. The film opens March 18th via WB, and here’s a peek – and note: a cover of The Monkees’ “Daydream Believer” is the film’s theme, performed by lead actress Mitsuki Takahata.
Director Kamiyama also wrote the script. Satoko Morikawa (The Cat Returns, Eden of the East) designed the characters, and Shigeto Koyama is in charge of mechanical design.
Atsuko Sasaki (Ryoko’s Case File) is key animation director alongside animation directors Motonobu Hori, Toshiyuki Kono, and Kazuchika Kise. Kiyoshi Samejima (The Wind Rises, When Marnie Was There background art) and Kaori Hino are the art directors. Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV) is composing the music for the film.
