This is the second entry in a trilogy of new anime Godzilla films from TOHO Animation and Polygon, with the first entry, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017), released theatrically in Japan on November 7th, 2017 and worldwide to Netflix exactly two months later. The yet-untitled third entry is planned to be released to theaters in Japan later in 2018.
