ANIME TRAILER: “Dan Da Dan” Season 2 Confirmed For July 2025

As of December 19, 2024, following the finale of its first season, Crunchyroll has announced that the record-breaking anime Dan Da Dan will return for a second season, set to premiere in July 2025. The newly released visual highlights Jiji with a chilling stare, while Okarun and Momo prepare for battle in the foreground. Looming ominously in the background, the mysterious Evil Eye watches over the protagonists, adding to the tension of what’s to come. Portraits of classical composers and a small kaiju hint at the chaotic and unpredictable nature of Dan Da Dan that’s sure to continue in the next season.

The original work by Yukinobu Tatsu was first serialized in “Shonen Jump Plus” and has been adapted to an anime to by animation studio Science SARU, best known for their work on The Colors Within and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The series features Fuga Yamashiro as the director, Hiroshi Seko as the scriptwriter, Naoyuki Onda as the character designer, Junichi Higashi as the art director, Kiyoshi Hirose as the editor, Kazuto Izumita as the composting director, and Eriko Kimura as the sound director. Additionally featured is music from kensuke ushio, character design from Naoyuki Onda, creature design by Yoshimichi Kameda, and color design by Satoshi Hashimoto and Makiho Kondo. The opening theme song “Otonoke” was made with Creepy Nuts, with the ending theme song “TAIDADA” being made by ZUTOMAYO. The Japanese and English voice cast are made up by: Shion Wakayama (JP) and Abby Trott (EN) as “Momo,” Natsuki Hanae (JP) and AJ Beckles (EN) as “Okarun,” Nana Mizuki (JP) and Kari Wahlgren (EN) as “Seiko,” Ayane Sakura (JP) and Lisa Reimold (EN) as “Aira,” Kaito Ishikawa (JP) and Aleks Le (EN) as “Jiji,” Kazuya Nakai (JP) and Ben Diskin (EN) as “Serpoian,” Mayumi Tanaka (JP) and Barbara Goodson (EN) as “Turbo Granny,” Ryuzaburo Otomo (JP) as “Flatwoods Monster,” Kikuko Inoue (JP) as “Acrobatic Silky,” Tomokazu Seki (JP) as “Dover Demon,” Tomokazu Sugita (JP) and Kaiji Tang (EN) as “Taro,” Fumi Hirano (JP) and Allegra Clark (EN) as “Hana,” Masako Isobe (JP) as “Naki Kito,” with “Evil Eye” yet to be confirmed.

Synopsis

In Dan Da Dan, Momo comes from a family of spirit mediums, while her classmate Okarun is an occult fanatic. Both bullied growing up for their niche beliefs, one day they meet after Momo stands up for Okarun, but their clashing interests spark a heated debate. They dare to prove the other wrong, that only ghosts or only aliens are real. Unfortunately, both are, and their newfound friendship is tested battling the occult and unravelling their feelings for each other.
