If you are interested in the question: “Where did Matt Groening, Brad Bird and Bill Plympton come from, and what, if anything, did their emergence have to do with the previous generation of animation figures from Oregon, a group which included Mel Blanc, Marc Davis, Ralph Wright, Pinto Colvig and George Bruns?” this conference may be useful to your research. The 6th Annual Oregon Film History Conference takes place on Friday, May 1st, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Lewis & Clark College. The conference is an annual day-long conversation about Oregon film, animation and print cartooning history for educators, historians, curators, librarians, archivists and filmmakers. It is small in size, but designed to encourage interdisciplinary engagement, open ended discussion, and professional networking. The careers of Joan Gratz and Pinto Colvig will be showcased.
