Netflix has announced Alley Cats, a brand-new adult animated comedy created by Emmy and BAFTA winner Ricky Gervais (After Life, Extras, The Office), set to premiere in 2026.
The show features a stacked voice cast including Ricky Gervais, Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, and also featuring Natalie Cassidy and Tony Way.
Alley Cats is a slacker-style sitcom that follows a scrappy group of feral British cats as they search for companionship while musing on everyday life. Produced in bold 2D animation at the UK’s award-winning Blink Industries (Dead End: Paranormal Park, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared), the series brings an absurd sense of humor to Gervais’ signature mix of heart and social commentary.
The six-episode series (15 minutes each) is co-directed by Ricky Gervais and Elliot Dear, with production design by Tang Heng (Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2). Executive producers include Gervais (Derek Productions) and Steven Hamilton Shaw (Gnomeo & Juliet) of Shush Creative.
