Streaming Ink Media and celebrated indie animator Jim Lujan are gearing up for the premiere of The Full Fungus, a highly anticipated, genre-bending animated feature. The film debuts exclusively on Animation+ on March 21, 2025, at 10 PM EST / 7 PM PST, marking a major milestone as the platform’s first-ever original independent animated feature.
A crime comedy with a signature from cult underground artist Jim Lujan, The Full Fungus follows private investigator Chino Diamond as he hunts for a lost recording from legendary jazz musician Mink Fungus. The film blends classic LA noir storytelling with unexpected humor, plot twists, and a rich soundtrack that pays tribute to the era.
Jim Lujan, known for his distinct animation style, has been a driving force in independent animation for years. His past work includes co-creating the cult favorite Revengeance with animation legend Bill Plympton, as well as contributing to Adult Swim, Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival, and Fox’s Bless the Harts. In The Full Fungus, Lujan brings his signature DIY approach—directing, animating, and even scoring the film himself.
The voice cast includes Charley Rossman (Superbad) as Chino Diamond and Deacon Burns (Kounterclockwise) as Mink Fungus, alongside a lineup of Lujan’s longtime creative collaborators.
