The nominations have been announced for the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Animation is one of the driving forces behind Daytime TV. Disney’s Elena of Avalor and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure lead animated programming with 7 nominations each, followed by Disney Junior’s The Rocketeer with 5.
Other prominent animated studios, channels and streaming platforms are represented across a variety of categories, including Green Eggs and Ham (Netflix), Dragons: Rescue Riders (DreamWorks/Netflix), SpongeBob SquarePants (Nickelodeon), The Tom & Jerry Show (Boomerang), The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (DreamWorks/Amazon Prime Video), Snoopy in Space (AppleTV+), LEGO DC Batman: Family Matters (Warner Bros.) and Craig of the Creek (Cartoon Network).
Reactions to the nominations are coming in. Josh Scherba, President of WildBrain, Said: “Delivering the world’s first new Peanuts series in decades has been a passion project for WildBrain, working alongside the Schulz family, Creative Associates, Peanuts Worldwide, NASA and the wonderful people at Apple TV+. We’re incredibly honoured that Snoopy in Space and our team have been recognized with four Daytime Emmy nominations. It really doesn’t get much better than creating content for an iconic brand like Peanuts for a new generation of kids and their families to enjoy.”
Nick’s Blue’s Clues & You! received two Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Preschool Children’s Series. The creators have provided this quote to Animation Scoop:
“We are so honored to be able to play in the Blue’s Clues world again, and thrilled to be nominated this first year! Our team is a family and we are thankful for Josh, Steve and Donovan for helping us launch this new endeavor for kids (and our original fans!). After getting so close with over 25 noms and no wins for the original, our fingers are crossed!” — Angela C. Santomero & Traci Paige Johnson, creators and executive producers, Blue’s Clues & You!
